
Physical Therapy Department
Introduction:
The department of physical therapy is the second physical therapy program in Saudi Arabia; the program started for males students in 2000 and for Females in 2006
The program consists of a four-year full-time program; every academic year includes two semesters, every semester consists of 16 Weeks (Lecture, Lab and clinical), of total 135 CH, followed by one-year Internship; in the form of supervised clinical practice in different areas of specialties, leading to a Bachelor of Science degree.

Vision:
Providing physical therapy graduates with the highest quality of professional standards and guidelines concerning with physical therapy practice
Mission:
To supply physical therapy students with advanced practical skills, updated knowledge and ethical attitudes in order to be competent junior physical therapists, aiming to;
- Supply health care needs
- Develop health policy and PT standards
- Encourage scientific research
Goals:
Upon graduation, students will be competent in;
- Understand and apply Islamic values and traditions in the practice of physical therapy.
- Show competence in the practice of physical therapy (evidence-based Practice).
- Have necessary knowledge drawn from the biological, physical, and behavioral sciences (critical thinking).
- Apply clinical skills of evaluation, problem-solving, and treatment used in patient management.
- Relate their theoretical and practical experiences to the needs of society.
- Demonstrate appropriate professional behavior with patients, their families, and other health care members.
- Understand the process of research design and research methodology.
- Use effective communication skills.
- Demonstrate safe and ethical practice.
- Appreciate continuing education and learning in order to develop their personal, professional, and post-graduate knowledge.
